Start-up
Procedure
1. Set the Speed Control Switch to the START/IDLE position
(Figure 22).
2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch. Turn the
key clockwise to the PRE-HEAT position (Figure 23A)
and observe the Pre-Heat Lamp. When the Pre-Heat
Lamp has turned off, continue turning the ignition key
clockwise to the START position (Figure 23B). When the
engine starts, release the key. If engine fails to start
within 10 seconds, wait 30 seconds and repeat this step.

The engine's exhaust contains harmful emissions.
ALWAYS have adequate ventilation when operating

Direct exhaust away from nearby personnel.
Before Starting
1. Place main, GFCI, and aux. circuit breakers (Figure 20)
on the controll panel in the OFF position prior to starting
the engine.

3. Connect the load to the
receptacles
as shown in Figure
11. These load connection points can be found on the
output terminal panel and the output terminal panel’s hard
wire hookup panel.
CAUTION - LETHAL EXHAUST HAZARD
3. Once the engine starts, let it run for 1-2 minutes.
Listen for any abnormal noises. If any abnormalities
exists shutdown the engine and correct the problem.

manually start the engine with the
main

circuit breakers in the ON (closed) position.

4. Close all engine enclosure doors (Figure 21).

4. The generator's frequency meter (Figure 24) should be
displaying the 60 cycle output frequency in HERTZ.
