release button is locked in the primary hole
andthe knobis securely tightenedbefore o p -
erating the unit. All attachments are designed
to beused in the primary hole unless otherwise
stated in the applicable attachment instruction
manual. Usingthewrongholecouldleadtoseri-
ous injury or damage to the unit.

ATTACHING THE SHIELD
WARNING: Theshield m ustbe prop-
erly installed. The shield provides partial
protection from the risk of thrown objects to
the operator andothers andis equippedwith
a line limiter which cuts e xcess line. The line
limiter (on underside of shield) is sharp and
can cut you.
1. Remove nut from shield.
2. Insert bracket into slot on shield.
3. Pivot shielduntilboltpassesthroughhole
in bracket.
4. Reinstall nut and tighten securely with
wrench (provided).

ADJUSTING THE HANDLE
WARNING: Whenadjusting the han-
dle, be sure it remains between the trigger
and the safety label. Assist handle must be
positioned only below the arrow.
1. Loosen wing nut on handle.
2. Rotate the handle on the shaft to an up-
right position; retighten wing nut.
OPERATION
WARNING: Be sure to read the fuel
information inthe safety rules before you be-
gin.If youdonot understandthe safety rules,
do not at temp t t o fuel your unit. Contact a n
authorized service dealer.
FUELING ENGINE
WARNING: Remove fuel cap slowly
when refueling.
This engine is certified to operate on unleaded
petrol. Before operation, petrol must be mixed
with agoodquality 2--cycleair--cooled engineoil
designed to be mixed at a ratio of 40:1. A 40:1
ratio is obtained by mixing 5 liters of unleaded
petrolwith 0,125liter o f oi l.DO NOT USE auto-
motiveoil o rmarineoil. Theseoilswill causeen-
gine damage. When mixing fuel, follow instruc-
tions printed on oil container. Once oil i s added
topetrol,shakecontainermomentarily toassure
that the fuel is thoroughly mixed. Always read
and follow the safety rules relatingto fuelbefore
fueling your uni t.
CAUTION: Never use strai ght petr o l i nyour
unit. T his willcausepermanent enginedamage.
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
Usegoodquality unleadedpetrol. Thelowest
recommended octane grade is 90 (RON).
IMPORTANT
Useof alcoholblendedfuels (morethan10%al-
cohol) can cause major e ngine performance
and durability problems.
WARNING: Incorrect useof fueland/
or lubricants will cause problems suc h as:
improper c lutc h engagements , ov erheat-
ing,v aporlock,powerlos s ,lubricationdefi-
cienc y, deterioration of fuel lines, gaskets
and internal c arburetor components, etc.

HOW TO STOP YOUR UNIT
S To stop the engine, move the ON/STOP
switch to the STOP position.
