In cold weather, your engine may be hard to start. If so, remove the rubber
plug on the rocker arm cover (see Figure 19). Add 2 cc of engine oil in hole.
Replace rubber plug. Repeat starting procedure.

Never use gasoline, paint thinner, or any other
flammable liquid as a starting aid. An explosion may
occur.

CAUTION
Keep rubber plug on rocker arm in place when not
adding oil for starting. Rain, dirt, and other debris
may enter the engine. This can damage the engine.

B. Recoil Starter
I. Slowly pull starter rope until you feel strong resistance. Gently return
starter rope to engine.
II. Push decompression lever all the way down (see Figure 20). Decompres-
sion lever will stay in this position until you pull starter rope.
