Be sure to ground the generator
if the connected electrical
equipment is grounded as in-
structed on page
7.
If tool or appliance to be oper-
ated is grounded type
(3
prong
plug), be sure to use only exten-
sion cords that are also
3
wire,
grounded type.
NOTE
:
When the
AC
breaker turns
off
during operation, the generator has been over-
loaded or the appliance is defective.
Stop the generator immediately, check the appliance and/or generator for
overloading or detect and have repaired as necessary by Makita factory or
authorized service center.
{CAUTION]
The duplex
120V receptacle
is
protected by a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter).
GFCI shuts of the output current from the duplex
120V receptacle when a
ground fault occurs
in
the generator or the appliance.

Please note that other receptacles are NOT protected by GFCI..
PRECAUTIONS
FOR
USING THE
GFCl
RECEPTACLES
After starting the engine, check the GFCl for proper functioning by the following
test procedure.
Push TEST button. The RESET button will pop out exposing the word TRIP.
Power is now
off at the outlets protected by the
GFCI,
indicating that the
device is functioning properly.

If
TRIP does not appear when testing, do not use the generator. Call a
qualified electrician or have generator repaired at Makita factory or authorized
service center.
To restore power, push RESET button.
