STARTING THE ENGINE

(a) Open the fuel cock.
(b)
Pull
choke knob
to
close (choke cold
start) position.
(c) Make sure that the “Auto Idle” switch is
in the
“OFF”
position.
(d) Pull the starter handle slowly until re-
sistance is felt. This is the ”Compression”
point. Return the handle to its original
position and then pull swiftly.
If
the engine fails to start after several
attempts, repeat above procedures with
choke knob returned to
”OPEN” posi-
tion.
Do
not fully pull out the rope.
After starting, allow the starter handle to
return to its original position while still
holding the handle.
(e) After the engine started, return the choke
knob gradually
to
“OPEN” position.
(f) Warm up the engine without a load
for
a
few minutes.
