5.4 Air Cleaner Service
Fire.
Can cause severe injury or death.
Do not smoke or permit flames or
sparks near fuels or the fuel system.
WARNING
Servicing the air cleaner. A sudden backfire can cause
severe injury ordeath. Do notoperate the generatorset with
the air cleaner removed.
5.4.1 Air Cleaner, 14RESA/RESAL
The engine has a replaceable high-density paper air
cleaner element. See Figure 5-7.

Check for a buildup of dirt and debris around the air
cleaner system. Keep this area clean. Also check for
loose or damaged components. Replace all bent or
damaged air cleaner components.
Note: Operating the engine with loose or damaged air
cleaner components could allow unfiltered air
into the engine causing premature wear and
failure.
