TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE AND SPECIFICATIONS
If you experience difficulties in the use of this unit, please check the following before
calling for Customer Service.
No power.
o Ensure the AC Power adapter is securely connected to the DC jack and
plugged into the wall outlet.
o Check if the backup batteries have been installed.
No sound
o Radio may not be turned on, turn the unit ON.
o Batteries may not be installed. Install four (4) fresh “AA” size batteries in
the battery compartment.
o The unit may not be connected to power source. Connect the AC power
adaptor to both the unit and the wall outlet.
o Volume may be turned down. Adjust the volume.
No weather broadcast when the
WEATHER/HAZARD ON/OFF button is
pressed
o The telescoping antenna may not be fully extended. Extend the antenna.
o The unit may be in an area where radio reception is weak. Move the unit
near a window. It may also be necessary to install an external antenna.
o Ensure that the weather band channel has been properly selected.
The unit does not respond properly to NWS weather alert broadcasts
o Ensure that the proper S.A.M.E. county code(s) have been programmed
into the radio.
o Check with the National Weather Service to see if the local tower is
broadcasting.
