The brake uid reservoir (1) is located under the hood (Figure 17). Raise the hood to check the brake uid level.
During the brake uid level inspection, also inspect the following:
• The presence of brake uid on the exterior surface of the master cylinder indicates a leak.
• The brake uid reservoir diaphragm (located in the cap) should not have holes or other damage.
BRAKE FLUID
Brake uid level should be within 1/4-inch (6 mm) from the top of the reservoir (Figure 18). Also, brake uid should be
clean with no residue in the bottom of the reservoir or other evidence of contamination.
CAUTION
• Use only DOT 5 (silicone) brake uid. Use of any other type brake uid is not recommended.
