6. Soak air filter in clean engine oil.
7. Squeeze out excess oil.
NOTE:
Engine will smoke during initial start-up if too much oil is
left in filter.
8. Reassemble the air cleaner assembly:
For HW5500EL & HW5500L Models:
8A. Reinstall the light grey foam air filter.
8B. Reinstall the dark grey foam air filter.
8C. Reinstall the air cleaner cover and lock the latches at
the top and bottom.
For HW5500 & HW5500E Models:
8A. Reinstall the metal air filter plate in the support brack-
ets if it fell out during air filter removal.
8B. Reinstall air filter.
8C. Reinstall air cleaner cover.

Frequent or prolonged contact with engine oil may cause
skin cancer.
Thoroughly wash hands and any areas of skin exposed
to used oil with soap and water.
