Engine Maintenance
Replacing the Air Filter
Service Interval: Every 25 hours
Replace the air lter yearly; replace it more frequently
in dusty operating conditions. Refer to Preparing for
Maintenance.
1. Use a screw driver to open the air lter cover
(Figure 43).

2. Replace the air lter (Figure 44).

3. Install the cover.
Changing the Engine Oil
Service Interval: After the rst 5 hours
Yearly
Run the engine a few minutes before changing the oil
to warm it. Warm oil ows better and carries more
contaminants.
1. Perform the pre-maintenance procedures; refer to
Preparing for Maintenance.
2. Remove the dipstick (Figure 45).

3. Tip the mower onto its side, with the air lter up,
to drain the used oil out through the oil ll tube
(Figure 46).

4. Slowly pour oil into the oil ll tube until the oil level
reaches the Full line on the dipstick (Figure 47).
Do not overll. (Max. ll: 0.59 l, type: SAE 30
detergent oil)
