Disconnect spark plug wire before performing any maintenance (except carburetor adjustment) to
prevent accidental starting of engine.
Prevent fires! Keep the engine free ofgrass, leaves, spilled oil, or fuel. Remove fuel from tank before
tipping unit for maintenance. Clean muffler area of all grass, dirt and debris.
Do not touch hot muffler or cylinder fins as contact may cause burns.
ENGINE
LUBRICATION
Change the oliafter the first two hours of operation and
every 25 hours thereafter or atleast once a year if thetiller
isnot used for 25 hours in one year.
Check the crankcase oil level before starting the engine
and after eachfive (5) hours of continuoususe. Add SAE
30 motor oil or equivalent. Tighten oilfiller plug securely
each timeyou checktheoillevel, SAE5W-80 motoroil may
be usedto make starting easier in areas where temperature
is consistently 32° F ((3°0) or lower.

Be sure tiller is on level surface,
Oil wiltdrain more freely when warm°
Catch oil in a suitable container°
Remove drain plugo
Tip tiller forward to drain ell,
After oil has drained completely, replace oildrain plug
and tighten securely.
Remove oll filler plugo Be careful not to allow dirt to
enter the engineo
Refill engine with oil. See "CHECK ENGINE OIL
LEVEL in the Operation section of this manual,

. Loosenaircleaner screws, one on each side ofcover_
Remove air cleaner cover_
Carefully remove air cleanercartridge. Be careful Do
notallow dirt_ordebristofall intocarburetor.
- Install new air cleaner cartridge. Clean and replace
cover.Tighten screws securely.
NOTE: Do not attempt to clean or oi!the paper cartridge.
