REPLACING BA'FrERY
_CAUTION: Do not short battery
terminals by allowing a wrench or any
other objectto contact beth terminals at
the same time. Before connecting battery,
remove metal bracelets, wristwatch
bands, dngs, etc.
Positiveterminal must be connected first
to prevent sparking from accidental
grounding.
1. Lifthoodto raised position.
2. Remove terminal guard.
3. Disconnect BLACK battery cable then
RED battery cable and carefully
remove batteryfrom tractor.
4. Installnew battery with terminals in
same position as old battery.
5. Reinstall terminal guard.
6. Firstconnect RED battery cable to
positive (+) battery terminal with hex
boltand keps nut as shown. Tighten
securely.
7. Connect BLACK grounding cable to
negative (-) battery terminal with
remaining hex belt and keps nut.
Tighten securely
8. Close terminal access doors.
9. Close hood.

TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT LAMP
CAUTION: When lit, the halogen lamps
get extremely hot. Hold lamp assembly by
the holderand do nottouch the bulb.
1. Raise hood.
2. Disconnect harness from lamp
assembly.
3. Rotate counterclockwise and pull
lamp assembly out of the hole in the
backside of the gdll.
4, Insert new lamp assembly and rotate
clockwiseto lock.
5. Reconnect harness to lamp assembly.
6. Close hood.
INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged wiringmay cause your
tractorto run pnerly,stoprunning,or
preventitfrom starting.
Check wiring. See electrical wiring
diagram in the Repair Parts section.
TO REPLACE FUSE
Replace with 20 amp automofive-type
plug-in fuse. The fuse holderislocated
behind the dash.
TO REMOVE HOOD AND GRILL
ASSEMBLY
1. Raise hood.
2. Unsnap headlight wire connector.
3. Stand in front oftractor. Grasp hood at
sides, tilt toward engine and liftoff of
tractor.
4. To re )lace, reverse above procedure.

ENGINE
Maintenance, repair, or replacement of
the emission control devices and systems,
which are being done at the customers
expense, may be performed by any non-
road engine repair establishment or
individual. Warranty repairs must be
performed by an authorized engine
manufacturer's service outlet.
TO ADJUST THROTTLE CONTROL
CABLE
The throttlecontrolhas been preset at the
factory and adjustment should not be
necessary. Check adjustment as de-
scribedbelow before loosening cable. If
adjustment is necessary, proceed as
follows:
1. With engine not nJnning,move throttle
control lever tofast position.
2. Check that speed control lever is
against stop screw. Ifit is not, loosen
casing clamp screw and pull throttle
cable untillever is against screw.
Tighten clamp screw securely.
