TO REPLACE MOWER BLADE DRIVE BELT TO ADJUST BRAKE (See Fig. 25)
(See Fig. 24) Your tractor isequipped with an adjustable brake system
The mower blade drive belt may be replaced without tool& which is mounted on the right side of the transaxle.
Park the tractor on revel surface,, Engage parking brake if tractor requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance
BELT REMOVAL - at high speed in highest gear, then brake must be adjusted,
. Remove mower from tractor (See "TO REMOVE . DepresscEutch/brakepedalandengageparkingbrake
MOWER" in this section of this manual)° . Measure distance between brake operating arm and
o Work beetoff both mandrel pulleys and idler puIleys, nut "A" on brake rod.
* Ifdistance is other than 1-3f4", toosen jam nut and turn
, Pull belt away from mower, nut "A" until distance becomes I-3/4". Retighten jam
BELT INSTALLATION - nut against nut "A".
o Instalt new belt in reverse order of removal, o Roadtesttractorforproperstopping distance as stated
o Make sure bett is in all pulley grooves and inside all belt above. Readjust if necessary. If stopping distance is
