GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
• Always observe safety rules when per-
forming any maintenance.
• The warranty on this lawn mower does
not cover items that have been subject-
ed to operator abuse or negligence. To
receive full value from the warranty,
operator must maintain mower as
instructed in this manual.
• Once a year check blade for wear.
• Follow the maintenance schedule in this
manual.
• Before each use:
• Check for loose fasteners.
LUBRICATION
No lubrication is required.
IMPORTANT: Do not oil or grease plastic
wheel bearings. Viscous lubricants will
attract dust and dirt and will shorten the
life of the self-lubricating bearings. If you
feel they must be lubricated, use only a
dry, powdered graphite tube lubricant
sparingly.
TIRES
, Keep tires free of gasoline, oil or insect
control chemicals which can harm rub-
ber.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
• Avoid stumps, stones, deep ruts, sharp
objects and other hazards that may
cause tire damage.
BLADE CARE
For best results, mower blade must be
kept sharp. Replace bent or damaged
blades.
CLEANING
• TURN MOWER OFF, let the blade
come to a stop and then remove safe-
ty keyl
° Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to
clean the mower. Clean out any clippings
which may have accumulated on the
underside of the deck.
PREVENTING CORROSION
• Fertilizers and other garden chemicals
contain agents which greatly accelerate
the corrosion of metals. If you mow in
areas where fertilizers or chemicals have
been used, the mower should be
cleaned immediately after use.
• CAUTION: DO NOT pour or spray water
on the mower.
• Do not store the tool on or adjacent to
fertilizers or chemicals. Such storage can
cause rapid corrosion.
