Lubricatethetorsionspringandpivotpointoneachendof thegrass
catcheradapterdooratleastoncea seasonwithlightoiltoprevent
rust.See Figure15.
Transmission
Thetransmissionis pre-lubricatedand sealedatthefactoryanddoes
notrequirelubrication.
CLEANING DECK
Cleanundersideof themowerdeckaftereachuseto preventbuild-up
ofgrassclippingsor otherdebris.Followstepsbelowforthisjob.
1. Disconnectsparkplugwire.Draingasolinefromlawnmoweror
placea pieceofplasticunderthegascap.
2. Tipmowersothat itrestsonthe housing,keepingthemufflerside
down.Holdmowerfirmly.
Nevertipthemowermorethan90oinanydirectionanddo notleave
Ithemowertippedforanylengthoftime.Oilcan draininto theupper
partof theenginecausinga startingproblem.
3. Scrapeandcleantheundersideofthedeckwitha suitabletool.
Donotspraywithwater.
IMPORTANT:Donotusea pressurewasherorgardenhosetoclean
yourunit.Thesemaycausedamagetobearings,ortheengine.The
useofwaterwillresultin shortenedlifeandreduceserviceability.
4. Putthemowerbackonits wheelsontheground.Ifyouhadput
plasticunderthegascapearlier,makesuretoremoveitnow.
