TO START ENGINE
1. Standingbehindthemower,squeezethebladecontrolhandle
againstupperhandle.
2. Holdingthesetwohandlestogetherfirmly,grasprecoilstarter
handleandpull ropeslowlyuntilresistanceisfelt,thenpullwitha
rapid,continuous,fullarmstroke.SeeFigure10.Keepinga firm
griponthestarterhandle,letthe roperewindslowly.Repeatuntil
enginecranks.Letthe roperewindeachtimeslowly.
Rapidretractionof startercord(kickback)willpullhandandarm
towardenginefasterthanyoucanletgo.Brokenbones,fractures,
bruisesorsprainscouldresult.
TO STOP ENGINE
1. Releasebladecontroltostoptheengineandblade.
Waitforthebladetostopcompletelybeforeperforminganyworkon
themowerorto removethegrasscatcher.
USING YOUR LAWN MOWER
Besurelawnisclearofstones,sticks,wire,orotherobjectswhich
coulddamagelawnmoweror engine.Suchobjectscouldbeaccidently
thrownbythemowerin anydirectionandcauseseriouspersonalinjury
totheoperatorandothers.
Theoperationofanylawnmowercanresultinforeignobjectsbeing
thrownintotheeyes,whichcandamageyoureyesseverely.Always
wearsafetyglasseswhileoperatingthemower,orwhileperforming
anyadjustmentsorrepairson it.

USING AS MULCHER
Formulchinggrass,installthemulchingbaffleasinstructedin the
"Assembly"section.Foreffectivemulching,donotcutwetgrass.Ifthe
grasshasbeenallowedtogrowinexcessof fourinches,mulchingis
notrecommended.Usethegrasscatcherto bagclippingsinstead.
Ifyoustrikea foreignobject,stoptheengine.Removewirefromthe
sparkplug,thoroughlyinspectmowerforanydamage,andrepair
damagebeforerestartingandoperating.Extensivevibrationof mower
duringoperationisan indicationofdamage.Theunitshouldbe
promptlyinspectedandrepaired.
