2. Wear safety glassesor goggles for eye protection
3. Dress safely - bootsor safetyshoes, long pants.
4. Check for worn, loose, missing or damaged parts and repair.
5. Inspect and ensure the area to be cut issafe.
6. Keep children, bystanders,and animals a minimum of 30 feet (10 meters)away from thework area.
FUELING ............................................................................... 6-7
1. Eliminate all sourcesofsparks orflame where fuel ismixed, pouredor stored.
2. Use fuel notover2 months old.
3. Mix and pour fuel inan approved, marked container in an outdoorarea.
4. Use 1 partair-cooled, 2-cycle,engine oilto 16parts regular unleaded gasoline.
5. Move a minimum of 10feet (3 meters)away from fuel and fueling site before startingengine.
STARTING THE ENGINE ................................................................ 7- 8
1. Extend a minimum of4 inches of line from the cutting head.
2. Place unit on groundaway from objects and on-lookers.
3. Keep the throttletrigger depressed untilengine runs.
4. Press injectorbuttonas indicated on page 8.
5. Pull the starter rope sharply and quickly.
OPERATING THE UNIT ....... .......................................................... 9- 11
1. Acceleratethe engine to the desired speed before cutting.
2. Release the trigger and allowtheengine toidle when notcutting.
& Make sure the cuttinghead stopstuming when the throttletrigger is released.
4. Stopthe engine by moving the ignitionswitchto the "off" position,

1. Operate the engine at full throttle.
2. Hold cutting head parallel to grassyarea of ground.
3. Tapcutting head lightlyon the ground once.
MAINTENANCE .......................................................................... 14
1. Drain all fuel fromthe unitbefore storingfor more than 30 days.
2. Disconnect spark plug before performingany maintenance exceptfor carburetor adjustment.
3. Clean air filter frequently butalways after 5 hours of operationor 5 tanks of gas whichever isless.
4. Lubricatethe flexibledrive shaft after each 10 hoursofoperationand afterstoringformore than 90 days.
5. Store ina dry place outof the reach of children.
