4. Move the idler bracket forward (disengaged
position) to remove the belt tension. Lift the belt
off the engine pulley and chain case pulley. See
Figure 18.
5. Using two 9/16" wrenches, remove the hex lock
nut holding the idler pulley and idler belt keeper.
NOTE:
Upon reassembly of new belt, the idler
pulley must be installed with the hub side towards
the chain case.

6. Reverse step 1 through step 5 to install the new
belt.
SECTION 5: OFF-SEASON
STORAGE
The following steps should be taken to prepare the
tiller for storage.
1. Clean tiller thoroughly.
2. Refer to engine manual for correct engine
storage instructions.
3. Coat tines with chassis grease to prevent
rusting.
4. Store tiller in a dry, clean area. Do not store
next to corrosive materials, such as fertilizer.
NOTE:
When storing any type of power equipment
in an unventilated or metal storage shed, care
should be taken to rust-proof the equipment. Using
a light oil or silicone, coat the equipment, especially
cables and all moving parts.
