MAINTENANCE
GEARBOX (Model 260 & 284)
The gearbox should be full (3 quarts) and not
require additional lubricant unless the box is
cracked or a seal is leaking. It is recommended that
the oil level dipstick (Figure MntP-R-0056) be
removed to check oil level after every 8 hours of
operation. If required, oil should be added until it
comes to proper level.
Recommended lubricant is Multi-Purpose Gear Oil
P/N 00786250.
NOTE: Make sure mower is level when checking oil
in the gearbox.
Gearbox capacity is 3 quarts.
NOTE: Overfilling of Gearbox will cause pressure to build up and cause Grease Seals to leak.
GEARBOX (Model 272)
Follow the same instructions as listed above for
(Figure Op-1225)
TAIL WHEEL ASSEMBLY
Tail Wheel Bearings are packed at the factory with
heavy-duty bearing grease. Grease Fittings are
provided in the Wheel Hub and Tail Wheel Beam.
Grease after 10 hours of use. Figure Mnt-0004.
