CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
V-BELT REPLACEMENT
• V-beltmustbereplacedifitbecomesstretchedtothe
point that it can no longer be adjusted, or if it becomes
frayed or otherwise can not function properly.
• MoveBladeClutchLevertothe“DISENGAGED"
position.
INSTALLING NEW V-BELT
• FeednewV-beltbetweenthetwobeltguidesatthe
EnginePulley.
• PlaceV-beltupandaroundtheEnginePulley.Checkto
makesuretheV-beltisseatedproperlyinthegrooveof
theEnginePulley.
• PlaceV-beltalonginsideofIdlerPulley.
• WrapV-beltdownaroundBladePulley,placingBelt
inside of Rear Belt Guides.
• ReinstallV-beltKeeperRodandsecurewithSmallHair
Pin.ChecktomakesureV-beltisovertopofKeeper
Rod.
• RepositionandretightentwoRearBeltGuidesatthe
rearoftheBladePulley.Leaveapproximately1/16"
betweenGuidesandPulley.
• ReinstallClevisPinandHairPinintoClutchCable.
• ReinstallFrontDriveCoverandRearDriveCover.
REMOVING OLD V-BELT
• RemoveRearDriveCover.
• RemoveFrontDriveCover.
• RemoveHairPinandClevisPinfromClutchCable.
• LoosentwoRearBeltGuidesandpivotthemaway
fromBladePulley.
• RemoveV-beltfromaroundBladePulley.
• RemoveonesmallHairPinfromBeltKeeperRodand
slideBeltKeeperRodtotheside.
• PullV-beltdownfromaroundEnginePulleyand
removeV-beltfromMower.
