OPERATOR SAFETY
S Dress pr operly. Always wear safety
gla sses or sim i lar eye p rotection when
operati ng or perfor mi ng maintenance on
your unit. (Safety glasses are available. )
Alwa ys wear face or dust mask if opera-
tion is dusty. Al w ays wear he avy, long
pants, lon g sleeves, boo ts, and glo ve s.
Do not go bar efoot o r w ear s andals.
S Secure hair abo ve shoulder length.
Secure or remove loose clothing an d
jewelryorclothing with l ooselyhanging
ties, straps, tassels, etc. They can be
caught in moving parts.
S Being fully covered also helps protect
you from debris and p ieces of toxic
plants thrown by spinning line.
S Stay alert. D o not operate unit w he n you
are tired, ill , upset or under the influence
of alcohol, drugs, or medicati on. Watch
whatyouare do ing;use commonsense.
S Avoid unintentional starting of the unit.
Never carry unit with yourfinger on the
switch. Be sure the switch is in
OFF
position and never touch the switch
when connecting extension cord.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING: Avoid a dangerous en-
vironment. To reduce the risk of electri-
cal shock, do not use in rain, in damp or
wet locations, or around swimming
pools, hot tubs, etc. Do not expose to
snow, rain, orwaterto avoid the possibil-
ity of electrical shock.

appliance has a polarized plug (one
blade is w i der than t he other) and will re-
quir e the use of a polar i zed ext ension
cord. The appliance plug will fit into a po-
larized exten si on cord only one way. If
the plug d oe s not fit fully in to the exten-
sioncord,reverse the pl ug.Ifthe plugstill
does notfit ,obtain acorr ectpolari zedex-
ten sion cord. A polarized ext ension cor d
will require t he use of a polarized wall
outlet . This plug wi l l fit into t he po l ar i zed
wall outlet only one w ay. If plug does not
fit fully into the wall outlet, reverse t he
plug. I fthe plug stilldoes not fi t ,contacta
qualified electrician to install the proper
wal lout let.Donotchange the e quipmen t
