dealer.

switch while connecting the unit to the

S A void any body contact with any
grounded conductor, such as metal
fences, orpipes, to a void thepossibility of
electric shock.
S Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)
protection should be provided on the cir-
cuit or outlet to be used f or this unit. Re-
ceptacles are available having built-in
GFCIprotection and may be u sed forthis
measure of safety.
S Stopthe motor immediately if y ou are a p-
proached.
DOUBLE INSULATION
CONSTRUCTION
This unit is dou bl e insulat ed to help pro-
tect against el ectr i c shock. Double i nsula-
tion construction consists of two separat e
“l ayers” of electri cal insulati on i nst ead of
grounding.Tools andappli ances bui ltwith
a d ouble insulati on system are not in-
tended to be g r ounded. N o grounding
means is provided on thisunit, norshould
a means of g r ounding be added to this
unit. As a result, the extension cord used
wit h your unit can be plugged into any
standard 120 volt el ectr i cal outlet . Safety
precauti ons must be observed when op-
erati ng any electri cal tool . The double in-
sulation system only provides added pro-
tection against injury resulting from an
internal electrical insulation failure.

UNIT/MAINTEN ANCE SAFETY
S Do not set the unit on any surface ex-
cept a clean, hard ar ea while the unit is
running. Debri s such as gravel, s and,
dust , gr ass, etc., could be p icked up by
theairintakeandthr ow noutthr oughthe
discharge opening, damaging the unit,
property, or causing serious injury to by-
standers or operat or.
S Do not overr each or use from unstable
surfaces such a s ladder s, trees, steep
slope s, roof tops, et c. Use e xtra care
when cleaning on stair ways. Keep fir m
footing and balance at all tim e s. Keep
hands out of t ubes.
S Inspect t he ent ire unit before each use
for worn, loose, missing, or damaged
parts. Do not use until the unit is in
proper wor ki ng order.
S This unit is double insulated. See the
DOUBLE I NS UL ATION C ONST RUC TI ON
section. Have all internal service per-
formed by qualif ied service repair per-
sonnel to avoid creating a haz ar d or
voiding your warranty.
S H ave all main tenance other than the
recom m en ded p rocedur es describedin
