HELPFUL TIP
Toobtain thecorrect oilmix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
one gallon of fresh gas.
This engine is certified to operate on un-
leaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline
must be mixed with a good quality synthetic
2-cycle air-cooled engine oil d esigned to be
mixed at a ratio of 40:1. Poulan/WEED EATER
brandsynthetic oilisrecommended. Mixgas-
oline and oil at a ratio of 40:1. A 40:1 ratio is
obtained bymixing 3. 2fluid ounces (95ml) of
oilwith 1gallon( 4liters)ofunleadedgasoline.
DO NOT USE autom otive oil or boat oil.
These oils will cause engine damage. When
mixing fuel, follow instructions printedoncon-
tainer. O nce oil is added to gasoline, shake
container momentarily to assure that the fuel
is thoroughly mixed. Always read and follow
the safety rules relating to fuel before fueling
your unit.
CAUTION : Never use straight gasoli ne in
your unit. This will cause permanent engine
damage and void the limited warranty.
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
This engine requires the use of minimum 87
octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.
IMPORTANT
Use of alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol or
using ethanol o r m ethanol) can cause major e n-
gine performance and durability problems.
WARNING: Alternative fuels (not
gasoline) such as E--15 (15% alcohol), E--20
(20% alcohol), E--85 (85% a lcohol) are NOT
classified as gasoline and ar e NOT appr oved
for u se in 2--stroke g asoline engines. Use of
alternative fuels will cause problems such a s:
improper clutch engagements, overheating,
vapor lock, power loss, l ubrication deficiency,
deterio ration of fuel lines, g askets an d i nterna l
carburetor components, etc. Alternative fuels
cause high moisture absorption into the fuel/oil
mixture leading to oil and fuel separation.
TO STOP THE ENGINE
D To stop the engine, move the throttle lever
to theSTOP
position and holduntil en-
gine stops running.
