4. Pull starter rope sharply until engine at-
temptstorun,butnomorethan5pulls(be-
low 30_ F, 8 pulls).
NOTE:If engineattempts tostart beforethe
5
th
pull, go to next step im m ediately.
5. Move the choke lever to the HALF
CHOKE position.
6. Pull the starter rope sharply until the en-
gine runs,but nomore than5 pulls (below
30_ F, 10 pulls).
7. After a 5 second warm--up, move the
choke lever to the RUN position.
8. Allow the unit to run for 30 more seconds
at the RUN position before moving the
throttle lever to
position.
If engine has not started after 5 pulls (at HALF
CHOKE), re peatST AR TINGACOLDENGINE
procedure. If engine still does not start, proceed
to ST ARTI NG A FLOODED ENGINE.
9. Tostopthe e ngine,move thethrottleleverto
the ST OP position.
STARTING A WARM ENGINE
NOTE:
If fuel tank is em pty, add fuel; then,
follow STARTING A COLD ENGINE proce-
dure. Do not fill fuel tank while engine is hot.
1. Move throttle lever to the
position.
2. Pull starter ropesharply untilengineruns,
but no more than 5 pulls.
NOTE: Ifengine has not started, pull starter
rope5morepulls. If enginestilldoes notrun,
it is probably flooded.
3. Tostop the engine,move thethrottle leverto
the ST OP position.
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
Flooded engines can be started by p lacing the
choke lever in the RUN position. Move throttle
le ve r to th e fast posi t ion
; then, pull rope
until engine starts.After enginestarts, movethe
throttlelever tothe slow p osition
to allow
engine to idle.
Starting could require pulling the starter rope
many times depending on how badly the unitis
flooded.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Avoid touching m uffler
unless engine and muffler are cold. A hot
muffler can cause serious burns.
WARNING: This unit is intended for
blower use only. Donot attemptto open inlet
cover.Openedordamagedinletcovercanre-
sultinseriousinjury.Discontinueuseofblow-
erimmediatelyifinletcover becomesopened
ordamaged. Ta keunit toyour nearest autho-
rized service dealer for repair.

FASTENERS AND PARTS
S Spark Plug Boot
S Air Filter
S Housing Screws
S Muffler
CHECK FOR DAMAGED OR WORN
PARTS
Contact an authorized service dealer for re-
placement of dam aged or worn parts.
S Throttle Lever -- Ensure throttle lever func-
tionsproperlybymovingthethrottleleverto
the STOP position. Make sure engine
stops; then restart engine and continue.
S FuelTank -- Do not useunit iffuel tank shows
signs of damage or leaks.
INSPECT AND CLEAN UNIT AND
DECALS
S After each use, inspect complete unit for
looseordamagedparts. Cleantheunitand
decalsusingadampclothwithamilddeter-
gent.
S Wipe off unit with a clean dry cloth.
