ON/OFF SWITCH
The ON/OFF SWITCH is used to stop th e en-
gine. To stop engine, move switch to OFF.
CHOKE
The CHOKE helps to supply fu el to th e engine
to aid in cold s tarting. Ac tivate the c hoke by
moving cho ke lever tothe desired po sition.See

PRIMER BULB
ThePRIMERBULBremovesairfromthecar-
buretor andfuel lines and fills them with fuel.
This allows you tostart theenginewith fewer
pulls on the starter rope. Activate the primer
bulb b y pressing it and allowing it to returnto
its original position.
THROTTLE TRIGGER
The T HROTTLE TRIGGER controls engine
speed.Squeeze t hetrigger forfull speedopera-
tion; release it for idle speed.
W ARNING:
Muffler is very hotduring
andafter use. Do nottouch themuffler or al-
lowcombustiblematerialsuchasdrygrassor
fuel to do so.
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE
W ARNING:
Be sure to read the fuel
informationin thesafety rules beforeyou be-
gin.If youdonot understandthe safetyrules,
do not attempt to fuel your unit. Call

FUELING ENGINE
W ARNING:
Remove fuel cap slowly
when refueling.
This engine is certified to oper ate on un-
leaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline
must be mixed with a good quality synthetic
2-cycle air-cooled engine oil designed to be
mixed at a ratio o f 40:1. Poulan/Weed Eater
brand synthetic oil is recommended. A 40:1
ratio is obtainedbymixing 3.2ounces(95ml)
ofoil with 1gallon (4liters) ofunleadedgaso-
line. DO NOT USE autom otive oil or boat oi l.
These oils will cause engine damage. When
mixing fuel, follow instructions printed on oil
container. O nce oil is added to gasoline,
shake container momentarily to assure that
thefuelis thoroughlymixed.Always readand
follow the safety rules listed under HANDLE
FUELWITH CAUTION.
IMPORTANT
Experience indicates that alcohol blende d fuels
(called gasohol or using e thanol or methanol)
can attract moisture which leads to separation
and formation of acids during storage. Acidic
gas can damage the fuel system of an engine
while in storag e. To avo id engine pr oblem s,
empty t he fuel system befo re storage f or 30
days or longer.Drain the g as tank, start theen-
gine a ndlet itrun u ntil th efuellinesandcarbure-
tor a re empty. Use f resh fu el ne xt season. Nev-
er use engine or carburetor cleaner produ cts in
the fuel tank or permanent da mage may occur .
