YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGA-
TIONS:
The U. S. Environm ental Protection
Agency and POU L AN/WEED EATER, DIVI-
SION OF WCI O UTDOOR PRODUCTS are
pleased toexplain theemissions controlsystem
war ranty on your lawn and garden equipment
engine. All new utility and lawn and garden
equipment enginesmust bedesigned, built, and
equipped to meet the stringent anti--smog stan-
dards. PO ULAN/WEED EATER must warrant
the emission control system on your lawn and
gardenequipment enginefor theperiods oftime
listed below provided ther e hasbeen no abuse,
neglect, or improper maintenance of your lawn
and garden equipment engine. Your emission
control system includes parts such as the car-
buretor and the ignition system. Where a war-
rantable condition exits, POULAN/WEEDEAT-
ER will repair your lawn and garden equipment
engine atno costto you.Expensescoveredun-
derwarr antyincludediagnosis, par tsand labor.
MANUFACTURER’S W ARRANTY COVER-
AGE:
If any emissions related part on your en-
gine ( aslistedunderEmissions C ontrolW ar r an-
ty Parts List) is defective or a defect in the
materials or workmanship of the engine causes
the failure of such an emission r elated part, the
part w ill be r epaired or replaced by POULAN /
WEED EATER.
OWNER’S W ARRANTY RE-
SPONSIBILITIES:
As the lawn and garden
equipment engine owner, you are responsible
for the performance of the required mainte-
nance listed in your instruction m anual. PO U-
LAN /WEED EA TER r ecomm ends that you re-
tain all receipts covering maintenance on y our
lawn and gar den equipment engine, but POU-
LAN /WEED EATER cannot deny warranty
solelyforthelackof receiptso rforyourfailur eto
ensure the perfor mance of all scheduled main-
tenance. As the law n and garden equipment
engine owner, you should be aware that POU-
LAN /WEED EA TER may deny you warr anty
coverage i f your lawn and garden equipment
engine orapart o fithas failed dueto abuse,ne-
glect, impropermaintenance, unapprovedmod-
ifications, or the use o f parts not made or ap-
proved by the original equipment manufacturer.
You a re responsible for p r esenting your lawn
and garden equipment engine to a POULAN/
WEED EATER authorized repair center as
soon as a problem exists. War r anty repairs
should be completed in areasonable amountof
time, not to exceed 30 days. If you have any
questionsregardingyourw ar r antyrightsandre-
sponsibilities, you should contact your nearest
authorized ser v ice center or call PO ULAN/

WAR-
RANTY COMMENCEMENT DATE:
The war-
ranty period begins on the date t he lawn and
garden equipment engine is purchased.
LENGTH OFCOVERAGE:
This warrantyshall
be for a period of two years from the initial date
of purchase.
WH AT IS COVERED: REPAIR
ORREPLACEMENT OFP ARTS.
Repairorre-
placement of any warr anted part will be per-
formed at no charge to the owner at an ap-
proved POULAN/WEED EATER ser v ic ing
center.If y ouhaveanyquestionsregardingyour
war r anty rights and responsibilities, you should
contact your nearest authorized service center

W ARRANTY PERIOD:
Any
warr anted part which is not scheduled f or re-
placement asrequiredmaintenance, orwhichis
scheduled only for regular inspection to the ef-
fect of “r epair or r eplace as necessary ” shall be
warr antedfor2years.Anywarrantedpartwhich
is scheduled for r eplacement as required m ain-
tenance s hallbe war r antedfortheperiod oftime
up to the first scheduled replacement point for
that part.
DIAGNOSIS:
The owner shall not be
charged for diagnostic labor w hich leads to the
determination that a war r anted part is defective
if the d iagnostic w or k is perform ed at an ap-
provedPO ULAN/WEEDEA TERse rvicingcen-
ter.
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:
POU-
LAN /WEEDEATER may b eliable for dam ages
to other engine components caused by the fail-
ure of a warr anted part still under war r anty.
WH AT IS NOT C OVERED
: All failures caus ed
byabuse, neglect, orim propermaintenanceare
not covered.
ADD--ON OR MODIFIED
P ARTS:
The use of add--on or modified parts
canbe g r oundsfordisallowinga w ar r antyclaim.
POULAN/WEED EATER is not liable to c over
failures of war ranted par tscaused by the u seof
add--on or modified parts.

er if the part is under war r anty.
