YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLiGATiONS
TheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoardandMTDConsumerGroupIncarepleasedtoexplaintheevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour2006lawn
mower.InCalifornia,newlawnmowermustbedesigned,builtandequippedto meettheState'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupIncmust
warranttheEECSon yourlawnmowerforthe periodoftimelistedbelowprovidedthere hasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceofyourlawnmower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuchasthe carburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Whereawarrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawnmower at no cost toyou includingdiagnosis, partsand labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfortwoyears.Ifanyevaporativeemission-relatedparton yourequipmentisdefective,the partwill be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe lawnmowerowner,you areresponsiblefor performanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedin yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupIncrecom-
mendsthatyouretainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyourlawnmower,but MTDConsumerGroupInccannotdenywarrantysolelyforthe lackof receipts.
Asthe lawnmowerowner,you shouldhoweverbeawarethatMTDConsumerGroupIncmaydeny youwarrantycoverageifyourlawnmoweror aparthasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawnmowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonasthe problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin areasonableamountof time,nottoexceed30 days.Ifyouhaveaquestionregardingyourwarrantycoverage,youshould
contactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthatthe lawnmoweris:Designed,builtand equippedsoasto
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefromdefectsinmaterialsand workmanshipthat causethe failureofawarrantedpartto beidenticalin all material
respectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatethe lawnmowerisdeliveredtoan ultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwoyears.
Subjecttocertainconditionsandexclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyon emission-relatedpartsisasfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat isnot scheduledfor replacementasrequiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedforthewarrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe partfailsduringthe periodof warrantycoverage,the partwill berepairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingtosubsection
(4) below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbe warrantedforthe remainderofthe period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledonlyforregularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedfor thewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor theremainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedforthe periodof timebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdateforthat part.Ifthe partfailsbeforethe firstscheduledreplacement,the partwillbe repairedor replacedbyMTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedforthe remainderoftheperiodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor thepart.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbe performedat awarrantystationat nochargetothe owner.
5. Notwithstandingtheprovisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill be providedatall ofourdistributioncentersthatarefranchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawnmowerownerwill notbechargedfordiagnosticlaborthatisdirectlyassociatedwith diagnosisof adefectke,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthatsuchdiagnosticworkis performedat awarrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncisliablefor damagesto otherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby afailureunderwarrantyofanywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthelawnmowerwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwillmaintainasupplyofwarrantedpartssufficientto meettheexpected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmaybeusedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargetotheowner.Suchusewill
not reducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthatarenotexemptedbytheAir ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseofany non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsbythe
ultimatepurchaserwillbegroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroupIncwillnot beliableto warrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe useofa non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairorreplacementofanywarrantedpart otherwiseeligibleforwarrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Incdemonstratesthat thelawnmowerhasbeenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,andthatsuchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseofthe needforrepairor replacementofthe part.Thatnotwithstanding,anyadjustmentofa componentthathasafactory installed,andproperly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceis stilleligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantypartslist arecovered:FuelLine,FuelLineClamps
