SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO REPLACE MOTION DRIVE BELT
(See Fig. 26)
Park the tractor on level surface Engage parking brake_
For ease of service there is a belt installation guide decal on
bottom of left footrest It isnot necessary to remove mowe r.
BELT REMOVAL -
Engage parking brake (creates slack in belt)_
Remove mower drive belt from electric clutch pulley
only (See "TO REPLACE MOWER DRIVE BELT" in
this section of this manual)
Roll motion drive belt off transaxle pulley.
Roll belt off clutching idler pulleys, then off engine
pulley and front V-idler pulley_
Pull belt out of all belt keepers
BELT INSTALLATION -
o Place V part of belt into grooves on engine pulley and
front V-idler, making sure to route belt inside of belt
keepers
Put belt coming from V-idler above midspan belt keeper,
then onto clutching idler pulleys as shown_
Make sure V part of belt engages V_idler.
Place belt around transaxle pulley, beginning at top_
V part of belt should engage transaxle pulley.
Place long lower section of belt through loop in midspan
belt keeper
Check to be sure belt is on proper side of all belt
keepers
o Reinstall mower drive belt onto electric clutch pulley
IMPORTANT: CHECK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
TO ADJUST STEERING WHEEL ALIGNMENT
If steering wheel crossbars are not horizontal (left to right)
when wheels are positioned straightforward, remove steer-
ing wheel and reassemble per' instructions inthe Assembly
section of this manual

FRONT WHEEL TOE-IN ADJUSTMENT
Front wheel toe-in is required for proper steering operation.
Toe-in was set at the factory and adjustment should not be
necessary If parts in the front axle or steering mechanism
have been replaced or damaged, check toe-in and adjust
if necessary
TO CHECK TOE-IN (See Fig. 27) -
o Position front wheels straight ahead_
° Measure distance between wheels at front and rear of
tires (dimensions "A" and "B")
° Front dimension "A" should be 1/8" to 1/4" less than
rear' dimension "B"
TO ADJUST TOEqN (See Figs. 27 and 28) -
o Loosen jam nuts at adjustment sleeves on tie rod.
o Adjust tie rod until dimension "A" is 1/8" to !/4" lessthan
dimension "B"
o Tighten jam nuts securely
FRONT WHEEL CAMBER
The front wheel camber is not adjustable on your tractor_ If
damage has occurred to affect the front wheel camber,
contact your nearest authorized service centeddepart-
ment
