SPARK PLUG
Starting failure and mis-firing are often caused
by a fouled spark plug. Clean the spark plug and
check that the plug gap is in the correct range.
For a replacement plug, use the correct type
specified by RedMax. (MA16)
Specified plug is Champion RDZ19H
1. Stop the engine and allow it to cool. Pull the wire
off of the spark plug.
2. Clean around the spark plug and remove it from
the cylinder head. Use a 5/8 inch (16mm) socket
to remove the plug.
3. Clean the electrode.
4. Set the plug gap at 0.025 in. (0.655mm) using a
feeler gauge (MA16). Install a correctly gapped
spark plug into the cylinder head.
To install the spark plug, first turn the plug until it
is finger tight, then tighten it a quarter turn more
with a socket wrench.
