ON/STOP SWITCH
The ON/ST OP SWITCH is used to stop the
engine.
THROTTLE TR IGGER
The THROTTLE TRIGGER controls engine
speed.
THRO TTLE LOC K--OUT
The THROTTLE LOCK--OUT must be
pressed before you can squeeze the throttle
trigger . This feature prevents you from acci-
dentally squeezing the trigger .
FAST ID LE LO CK
The FAST ID LE L OCK holds thethrottle t rigger
in the starting position. Activate the fast idle
lo ck by pre ssing the th r ott le lockout and
squeezing the throttle trigger . With the throttle
trigger squeezed, press the fast idle lock. Re-
lease t he throttle lockout a nd trigger while h old-
in g th e fa st idle lock butt on.
CHOKE KNOB
The CHOKE KNOB activates the choke to
provide additional fuel to the engine during cold
starting.
PRIM ER B ULB
The PRI M ER BULB circu lates fuel to the ca r-
bure tor to provide q uicker star ting .
CHAIN BRAKE
The C HAIN BR AKE is a device de s igne d to
stop th e ch a in if kickback occurs. The chain
brake activates automatically in the event of
kickb ack. T he cha in brake a ct ivate s manually
if the front hand guard is p ushed forward. The
ch ain brake is diseng aged b y pulling th e front
hand guard back toward the front handle as far
as po ssible.
CHAIN TENSION
It is n ormal fo r anewchain tostretch during first
15 minutes of operation. You should check
your chain te nsion frequently. See CHAIN
TENSION un der the ASSEMBL Y section.

Muffler is very hot dur-
ing andafteruse. Do nottouch t hemuffler o r
allow combustible material such as dry
grass or fuel to do so.
