EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTYRIGHTS ANDOBLIGA-
TIONS: The U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency , California Air Resources Board, Envi-
ronmen t Canada and ELECTROLUX HOME
PRODUCTS, INC., are pleased to explain the
e m issions con trol system wa r rant y o n your
year 2002--2004 small off--road en gine. In Cali-
fornia, all new small of f--r oad engines must b e
designe d, b uilt, and equipped to meet the
State’s stringent anti--smog standard s. EL EC-
TROL UX HOME PRODUCTS , INC., must
warrant the emission control system on your
small off--road engine for the periods o f time
listed below provided there has been no abuse,
neg lect, or improper maintenanceof your small
of f--r oa d e ngine engine. Y our emission control
system includes parts such as the carburetor
a nd t he ign it ion syst em. Where a warr ant a ble
cond ition e xists, E L ECTROLUX HOME
PRODUC T S, INC., will repair you r sm all off--
road engine engine at no cost to you. Ex-
penses covered under warranty include diag-
nosis, parts and labor . MANUFACTURE R’S
W ARRAN TY COVE RAGE: If any emissions
related part on your e ngine (as listed under
Emissions Control Warranty Parts List) is de-
f ectiveora d efect inth ema ter ials or wor kman-
ship o f the e ngine causes the fa ilure of such an
emission related part, the part w ill b e repa ired
or replaced by ELECTROLUX HOME PROD-
UCT S, INC. OWNER’S W ARRAN TY RE-
SPONSIBILITIES: Asthesmalloff--roaden-
gine engine owner , you are responsible for the
performance o f the required maintenance
listed in your instruction manual. ELECTRO-
LUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., recommends
t hat you retain all r eceip ts covering mainte-
nance on your small off--road engine, but
EL ECT ROLUX HOME PRODUC TS, INC.,
cannot deny warranty solely for the lack of re-
ceipts or for your failure to ensure the perfor-
mance of all scheduled maintenance. A s the
small o f f--r oad en gine engine owner , you
should be aware that ELECTROLUX HOME
PRODUCTS, INC., may deny you warranty
coverage if your small of f--road engine en gine
or a part of it has failed due to abuse, neglect,
improper maintenance, unapproved modifica-
tions, or the u se of pa rts not made or approved
by the o riginal equipment manu facturer . You
are responsible for presenting your small of f--
road engine to an ELECTROLUX HOME
PRODUCTS, INC.,authorized re pair center a s
soon as a problem e xists. Warranty repairs
should be completed in a rea sonable amoun t
of time, not toexceed 30 d ays. If you ha ve any
que stions reg arding your warranty rights and
respo nsibilit ies, you sho uld con t act you r n ear-
est authorized service center or call ELEC-
TROL UX HOME PRODUCTS, I NC., at
1--800--554--6723. W AR RANT Y C OM-
MENCEMENT DAT E: The warranty period
beg ins on the date the small off--road engine is
purchased. LENGTH OF COVERAGE: Th is
warranty shall be for a p eriod of two years from
the initial da te of purchase. WHAT IS COV-
ERED: REPAI R OR REPLACEMENT OF
PARTS. Repair or replacement of any war-
ranted part will be performed at no charge to
the owner a t an approved ELECTROLUX
HOME PRODUCTS , INC., servicing center. If
you have any questions regarding your war-
ranty rights a nd responsibilit ies, you shou ld
contact your nearest authorized service center
or call EL E CTROL UX HOME PRODUCTS ,
INC., at 1--800--554--6723. WAR RANTY PE-
RIOD: Any warranted part which is not sched-
uled for replacement as required maintenance,
or wh ich is scheduled only for regular inspec-
tion to the effect of “repair or replace as neces-
sary” shall be warranted for 2 years. Any war-
ranted pa rt which is scheduled for replacement
as req uiredmaintenance shall be warrantedfor
theperiodoftimeuptothefirstscheduledre-
placement point for that p art. DIAGNOSIS:
The owner shall no t b e charged for diagnostic
labor which leads t o the dete rmination that a
warranted part is defective if the diagnostic
work is performed at an approved ELECTRO-
LUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., servicing
center . CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC.,
may be liable for damages to other engine
compon ents caused by th e failure of a war-
ranted part still under warranty . WHAT IS NOT
COVERED: All f ailures caused by abuse, ne-
glect, or improper maintenance are not cov-
ered. ADD--ON OR MODIF IE D PARTS : The
use of add--on or modified parts can be
grounds for disallowing a wa rranty claim.
ELECT ROL UX HOME PRODUCTS, IN C., is
not liable to cover failures of warranted parts
caused by the u se of ad d--on or modified p arts.

ment part used in the performance of any war-
ranty maintenance or repair on emission re-
lated parts will be provided without charge to
the owner if the part is under warranty . EMIS-
SION CON TR OL WARRANTY PARTS LIST:
Carburetor , Ignition System: Spark Plug (cov-
ered up to maintenance schedule), Ignition
Module, Muffler inclu ding catalyst. MAI NTE-
NANCE STA TEMENT: Theowner isresponsi-
ble for the performance of all required mainte-
nance as defined in th e instruction manu al.
