Toobtain thecorrect oilmix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
one gallon of fresh gas.
This engi ne is certified to operate on unleaded
gasoline. Before operation, gasoline must be
mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cycle
air-cooled engine o il designed t o be mixed at a
ratio of 40:1. Poulan/WEED EATER brand
synthetic o il is r ecommended. Mix gasoline and
oil a t a ratio of 4 0:1. A 40:1 ratio is obtained by
mixing 3.2 ounces (95 ml) of oil with 1 gallon (4
liters) of unleaded gasoline. DO NOT USE
automotive oil o r b oat oil. T hese oils will cause
engine damage. When mixing fuel, follow
instructions printed on container. Once oil is
addedto gasoline,shake containermomentarily
to assure that the fuel is thoroughly mixed.
Always read and follow t he safety rules relating
to fuel before fueling your unit.
IMPORTANT
Experience indicates that alcohol blended
fuels (called gasohol or using ethanol o r
methanol)canattractmoisturewhichleadsto
separation and formation of acids during
storage. Acidic gas can damage the fuel
system ofanenginewhileinstorage. Toavoid
engine problems, empty the fuel system
beforestoragefor30days orlonger. Drainthe
gastank,starttheengineandletitrununtilthe
fuellines andcarburetorare empty. Usefresh
fuel next season. Never use engine or
carburetorcleanerproducts inthefuel tankor
permanent damage may o ccur.
NOTE: Unit must be placed on its side when
adding fuel (see illustration bel ow).
TO STOP THE ENGINE
D To stop the engine, move the throttle lever
to the STOP position.
BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
WARNING: You MUST make sure
the tubes ar e secure before using the unit.
D Fuel engine. M ove at least 10 f eet (3 me-
ters) away f rom the fueling site.
D Hold the unit in the starting position as
shown. Make sure the blower end is di-
rected away from people, animals, glass,
and solid objec ts.

WARNING: When starting engine,
hold the unitas illustrated. Donot setunit onany
surfaceexcept a clean, hard area when starting
engine or while engine is running. Debris such
as gravel, sand, dust, grass, etc. could be
picked up by the air intake and thrown out
through the discharge opening, damaging the
unit or pro p erty , or c ausing serious in ju ry t o by-
standers or the operator .
