STOP SWITCH
The STOP switchis used tostopthe engine. To
stop theengine, push andhold theswitch inthe
STOP position until the e ngin e stops.
PRIMER BULB
ThePRIMERBULBremovesairfromthecar-
buretor and fuel lines and fills them with fuel.
This allows you tostart theengine withfewer
pulls on the starter rope. Activate the primer
bulb by pressing it andallowing it to return to
its original form.
CHOKE
The CHOKE helps to supply fuel to the engine
toaidincoldstarting.Activatethechokeby
moving the choke lever to t he FULL C HOKE
position.Aftertheengineattemptsto start,move
the choke lever to the HALF CHOKE position.
Once engine h as started, move the choke lever
to the RUN position.

FUELING ENGINE
WARNING: Remove fuelcap slowly
when refueling.
HELPFUL TIP
Toobtainthecorrectoilmix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
one gallon of fresh gas.
This engine is certified to operate on unleaded
gasoline. Before ope ration, g asoline m ust b e
mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cycle
air-cooled engine oil designed to be mixed at a
ratio of 40:1. Poulan/WEED EATER brand
synthetic oil isrecommended. M ix gasoline and
oila tara tioof4 0:1. A40:1ratiois obtainedby
mixing 3.2 fluid ounc es (95 ml ) of oil with 1
gallon(4lit ers)ofunleaded gasoline.DONOT
USE automotive oil ormarine oil.These oils will
cause e nginedamage.When mixingfuel, follow
instructions printed on container . Once oil is
addedtogasoline,shake containermomentarily
to assure that the fuel is thoroughly mixed.
Always read and follow t he safety rules relating
to fuel before fueling your unit.
CAUTION: Never use straight gasoline in
your unit. This will cause permanent engine
damage and void the limited warranty.
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
This engine requires the use of minimum 87
octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.
IMPORTANT
Use of alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol or
usingethanol ormethanol) cancausemajor en-
gine performance and durability problems.
WARNING: Alternativefuels (notgas-
oline) such as E--15 (15% alcohol), E--20 (20%
alcohol),E--85(85%alcohol)areNOTclassified
as gasoline and are NOT approved for u se in
2--stroke gasoline engines. Use of alternative
fuels will cause p roblems such a s: improper
clutch engagements, overheating, vapor lock,
power loss, lubrication deficiency, deterioration
of fuel lines, gaskets and internal carburetor
