ON/ST OP SWITCH
The ON/STOP SWITCH is used to stop the
engine.
THROTTLE TRIG GER
The THROTTLE TRIGGER controls engine
speed.
THROTTLE LOCK--OUT
The T HROTTLE LOCK--OUT m ust be
pressed before you can squeeze the throttle
trigger. This feature prevents you from acci-
dentally squeezing the trigger .
CHOKE/ FAST ID LE LEVER
The choke and fast idle are set by pulling the
CHOKE/F AST IDLE LEVER out to the full ex-
tent for cold starting or after refueling. The
choke provides additional fuel to the engine
during cold starting.
PRIMER BULB
The PRIMER BULB circulates fuel to the car-
buretor to provide quicker starting.
CHAIN BRAKE
The chain brake is a device designed to stop
the cha in if ki ckback occurs. The chai n brake
activates automatically in the event of kick-
back. The chain b rake activates manually if t he
front hand guard is pushed forward. The chain
brake is disengaged by pulling the front hand
guard back toward the front handle as far as
possible.
CHAIN TENSION
It isnormal f or anew chain to stretch during the
first 15 minutes of operation. Y ou should check
your chain tension frequently . See CHAIN
TENSION under th e ASSEM BLY section.
WARNING: Muffler is very hot dur -
ing andafter use. Do not touchthe muf fleror
allow combustible material such as dry
grass or fuel to do so.
