S Watch for shifting of wood or other forces that
could close a cut and pinch o r fall into chain.

Low--Kickback Chain specified fo r your unit.
MAINTAIN CONTROL
S Keep a good, firm grip on the pruner with
both hands whenthe engine is running and
don’t letgo. A firm g ripwill helpyou reduce
kickback and maintain control. Keep the
fingers of your left handencircling andyour
left t hum b under the assist handle. Keep
your right hand completely around the
throttle handle whether your are right
handed or left handed.
S Stand with your weight evenly balanced on
both feet.
S Standslightly tothe leftsideof thepruner to
keep your body from being in a dire ct line
with the cutting chain.
KICKBACK SAF ETY FEATURES
The following features are included on your
pruner to helpreduce thehazard ofkickback;
however, su ch features will not totally elim i-
natethis danger. Asapruneruser,do notrely
only on safety devices. You must follow all
safety pr ecautions, instructions, and mainte-
nance in this manual to help avoid kickback
and other forces which can result in serious
injury.
