OPERATOR SAFETY

Always wear safet y glasses or similar
eye protection w hen operating, servic-
ing, or perfor ming m aintenance on your
unit. W earing eye protection can help to
prevent rocks or debris from being
blown or ricocheting into eyes and face
which can result in blindness or serious
injury.

Always wear a respirator or face mask
wh enworkingwiththeun itindustyenvi-
ronments.

Dress safely in long pants. Do not go
barefoot or w ear short pants or sandals.

Do not operate the unit when y ou are
tire d, ill, u ps et ,or if you ar eunder thein-
fluence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.

Secure hair so it is above s houlder
length. Keep loose hair , loose clothing,
fingers, and all other par ts of t he body
away from openings and moving parts.
Hair , jewelry, loose clothing, or clothing
with loosely hanging straps, ties, tas-
sels, etc., can be caught in m oving
part s .
ELECTRICALSAFETY
W ARNING:
Avoid a dangerous
environment. To reduce the risk of elec-
trical shock, do not use in rain, in damp
or wet locations, or around sw imming
pools, hot tubs, etc. Do not expose to
snow,rain,orwatertoavoid thepossibil-
ity ofelectrical shock. D o nothandle ex-
tension cord plug or unitwith wethands.

Use only a voltage supply as shown on
the nameplate of the unit.

Avoid dangerous situations. D o not use
in p res en c e of flamm a ble liquids or
gases to avoid cr eating a fire or explo-
sion and/or causing damage to unit.

A void dangerous environments. D o not
use in unventilated areas or where dust
or explosive vapors can build up.

To reduce t he r isk of electrical shock,
use extension cords specifically marked
as suitable f or outdoor appliances. The
electrical rating of the cord must not be
less than the r ating of the unit. The cord
must be marked with the suffix “W-A” (in
Canada, “ W” ). Make sure your ext en-
sion cord is in g ood condition. Inspect
extension cord befor e u se and r eplace if
damaged. An undersized e xtension
cord will cause a drop in line voltage r e-
sulting in loss ofpower and overheating.
If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge.
The smaller t he gauge number, t he
heavier the cord.

Inspect the insulation and connectors
on t he unit and ext ension cord before
each use. If t hereis anydamage, donot
use until damageis repaired by yourau-
thorized service dealer . Do not pull or
carry by cord; do not use cord as a han-
dle, close a d oor on cord, or pull c ord
around sharp edges or corners. Keep
cord awayfrom heatedsurfaces. Do not
unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug,
grasp the plug, not the cord.

recessed plug as shown in this manual
to prevent dam age to unit and/or exten-
sion cord a ndto re ducethepossibilityof
the extension cor d disconnecting f r om
the unit during operation.

Do notuse the unit if theswitch does not
turn the unit on and of f properly . Have
the unit repaired by your author ized ser-
vice dealer .
