to comply with Federal OSHA Regulations
for Commercial Logging.

condition of these parts. Failure to do so is

section for maintenance of the spark
arresting screen.

Protective gloves (not provided) should be
worn during assembly.

WARNING:
If received assembled,
repeat all steps to ensure your saw is prop-
erly assembled and all fasteners are secure.
Always wear gloves when handling the
chain. The chain is sharp and can cut you
even when it is not moving!

Loosen and remove the chain brake nuts
and the chain brake from the saw.

Remove the plastic shipping spacer (if
present).

An adjusting pin and screw is used to adjust
the tension of the chain. It is very impor tant
whenassemblingthebar,that t he p inlocated
on the adjusting screw aligns into a hole in
the bar. Tur ning the scr ew w ill m ove the a d-
justment pin up and dow n the screw. Locate
this adjustment befor e you begin mounting
the b a r onto th e saw. See illu s tration below.

Tur n the adjusting screw by hand counter-
clockwise until the adjusting pin j ust touches
the stop. This shoul d allowthe pin to be near
the cor r ect posi tion. Fur theradjustmentmay
be necessar y as you mount the bar.

Preparethe chai n b y c hecking t he pr operdi-
rection. Without following the illustr ation it is
easytoplacethechainonthesawinthe
wrong direc tio n. Use the illustration of the
chain to determ ine the p roper direction.
