HELPFUL TIP
To obtainthe correct oil mix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
one gallon of fresh gas.
This engine is certified to operate on unleaded
gasoline. Before operation, gasoline must be
mixed with a go od quality synt het ic 2-cycle air-
coole d engine oil designed to b e mixed at aratio
of 40:1. Poulan/Weed Eater brand synthetic oil
is recommended. A 40:1 ratio is obtained by
mixing 3.2 ounces (95 ml) of oil with 1 gallon (4
liters) of unleaded gasoline). DO NOT USE au-
tom ot ive oil or bo at oil. Th ese o ils will cau seen-
gine damage . When mixing fuel, follow instruc-
tions printed on oil container. Once oil is added
to gasoline, shake conta iner momentarily to as-
sure that th e fue l is thorough ly mixed. Always
read and follow the safety rules listed u nder
HANDLE FUEL WITH CAUTION.
IMPORTANT
Experience indicates that alcohol ble nded fuels
(called gasohol or using ethanol or methanol)
can attract moisture which leads to separation
and formation o f acids during storage. Acidic
gas can damage the fuel system of an engine
while in stora ge. To a void e ng ine proble m s,
empty the fuel system before storage for 30
days or lon ger . Drain the gas tank, start the en-
gine andlet it run u ntil the f uel lines andcarbure-
tor are empty. Use fresh fuel next season.
Never useengineor carburetor c leanerprod-
ucts in the fuel tank or permanent damage
may occur.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
It is recommended that the engine not be
operatedforlongerthan30 secondsatfull
throttle.
Releasing the trigger and allowing
the engine to briefly return to idle speed (5 --
10 seconds) will be sufficient.
