EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGA-
TIONS: The U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency, California Air Resources Board, Envi-
ronment Canada and ELEC TR OL U X HOME
PRODUCTS, INC., are pleased to explain the
emissions control system warranty on your
year 2002--2004 small off--road engine. In Cali-
fornia, all new small of f--road engines must be
designed, built, and equipped to m eet the
State’s s tringent ant i--smog s tandards. ELEC-
TROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., must
warr ant the emission control system on your
small of f--road engine for the per iods of time
listed belowprovided there hasbeen no abuse,
neglect, or improper maintenance o f yoursmall
off--road engine engine. Your emission cont rol
system includes parts such as the c ar buretor
and the ignition system. Where a warr antable
condition exists, ELECTROLUX HO ME
PRODUCTS, INC., will repair y our small of f--
road engine engine at no cost to you. Ex-
penses covered under warranty include diag-
nosis, parts and labor. MANUFACTURER’S
W ARRANTY COVERAGE: If any emissions
related part on your engine (as listed under
Emissions Control W ar ranty Par ts List) is d e-
fective or a defect in the materials or wor kman-
ship of the engine causes the failure of such an
emission r elated part, the part will be repaired
or replaced by ELECTROLU X HOME PRO D-
UCTS, INC. OWNER’S WARRANTY RE-
SPONSIBILITIES: As the small off--road en-
gine engine owner, you are responsible for the
performance of the required m aintenance
listed in your i nstruction manual. ELECTRO-
LUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., recommends
that you retain all receipts covering mainte-
nance on your small of f--road engine, but
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC.,
cannot deny warranty solely for the lack o f re-
ceipts or for your f ailure to ensure the perfor-
mance of all scheduled maintenance. As the
small of f--road engine engi ne owner, you
should be aw ar e that ELECTROLU X HOM E
PRODUCTS, INC., may deny you warr anty
coverage if your small o f f--road engine engine
or a part o f it has failed due to abuse, neglect,
improper maintenance, unapproved modifica-
tions, or the use of parts not made or approved
by the original equipment manufacturer. You
are r esponsible for presenting your small off--
road engine to an ELECTRO LU X HOM E
PRODUCTS, INC., authorized repair centeras
soon as a problem exists. War r anty repairs
should be completed in a reasonable amount
of time, not to exceed 30 days. If you have any
questions regarding your w ar r anty r ights and
responsibilities, you should contact your near-
est authorized service center or call ELEC-
TROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., at
1--800--554--6723. WARRANTY COM-
MENCEMENT DATE: The warr anty period
begins on the date the small off--road engine is
purchased. LENGTH OF COVERAGE: This
war ranty shall be for a period of two years from
the initial date of pur chase. WHAT IS COV-
ERED: REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF
P ARTS. Repair or replacement of any war-
ranted part will be perfor med at no charge to
the owner at an appr oved ELECTR O LU X
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., servicing center . If
you have any questions r egar ding your w ar-
ranty rights and responsibilities, you should
contact your nearest authorized service center
or call ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS,
INC., a t 1--800--554--6723. WARRANTY PE-
RIOD: Any war r anted part which is not sched-
uled for r eplacement as required maintenance,
or which is scheduled only for regular inspec-
tion to the ef fect of “repair or replace as neces-
sary” shall be warranted for 2 years. Any war-
ranted part which is scheduled for replacement
as r equir edmaintenance shall be warr antedfor
the per iod of time up to the first scheduled re-
placement point for that part. DIAGNOSIS:
The owner shall not be charged for diagnostic
labor w hich leads to the deter mination that a
warr anted part is defective if the diagnostic
wor k is perform ed at an approved ELECTRO-
LUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., servicing
center. CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC.,
may be liable for damages to other engine
components caused by the failure of a war-
ranted part still under war r anty. WH AT IS NOT
COVERED: All f ailures caused by abuse, ne-
glect, or improper maintenance are not cov-
ered. ADD--ON OR MODIFIED P ARTS: The
use of add--on or modified parts can be
grounds for disallowing a w ar ranty claim.
ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., is
not l iable to cover failures of war ranted parts
caused by the use of add--on or modified parts.
HOW TO FILE A CLAIM: If you have any
questions regarding your w ar r anty r ights and
responsibilities, you should contact your near-
est authorized service center or call ELEC-
TROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, INC., at
1--800--554--6723. WHERE TO GET WAR-
RANTY SER VICE: Warr anty ser vices o r re-
pairs shall be provided at all ELECTROLU X
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., service centers.

RELA TED PARTS: Any ELECTROLUX
HOME PRODUCTS, INC., appr oved replace-
ment par t used in the perform ance of any w ar-
ranty maintenance or repair on emission re-
lated par ts will be pr ovided without char ge to
the owner if the part is under warranty. EMIS-
SION CONTROL W ARRANTY PARTS LIST:
Carbur etor, Ignition System: Spark Plug (cov-
ered up to maintenance schedule), Ignition
Module, Muf fler including catalyst. MAINTE-
NANCE STATEMENT: The ow nerisresponsi-
ble for the per formance of a ll required mainte-
nance a s defined i n the instr uction m anual.
