WARNING: If received assembled,
repeatall steps toensure your unitis properly
assembled and all fasteners are secure.
Examine parts for dam age. Do not use dam-
aged parts.

It is normal for the fuel filter to rattle in the
empty fuel tank.
Finding fuelor oil residue onmuffler isnormal
due to carburetor adjustments and testing
done by the manufacturer.

S Hex wrench (provided)

TRIMMER ATTACHMENTS
CAUTION:
When removing or installing at-
tachments, place the uniton aflat surface for
stability.
NOTE: The pruner attachment connects to
the engineend shaft through use ofa coupler
system. For extra reach, the extension shaft
(included) can be used.
1. Loosen the couplers on the extension
shaft andontheengine endshaft b yturn-
ing the knobs counterclockwise.

2. Remove shipping protector fromcoupler.
3. Removethe shaft cap fromthe prunerat-
tachment (if present).
4. Position locking/release button ofattach-
ment into guide recess of coupler on
extension shaft.
5. Pushtheattachment intothe coupleruntil
the locking/release button snaps into the
primary hole.

6. Repeatsteps to attach extension shaft to
coupler on engine end shaft.
NOTE: DO NOT use e xtension shaft with
line trimmer attachment.
7. Before using the unit, tighten both knobs
securely by turning clockwise.
WARNING: Make sure the locking/
release buttonis locked in theprimary hole of
both couplers and the knobs are securely
tightened before operating the unit. U sing the
wrong holes could lead toserious injury or dam-
age to t he un it.
