OPERATING TIPS

death.
Do not operate the pole saw while in a tree, on a ladder
or any other unstable work surface, or in any awkward
position. You may lose control of the pole saw causing
severe injury.
Do not extend your arms above shoulders when using
the pole saw. Seek professional help if you are facing
conditions beyond your ability.
Trimming a tree is the process of cutting limbs from a
living tree. Make sure your footing is firm. Keep your feet
apart. Divide your weight evenly on both feet.
Avoid kickback.
Kickback can result
in sever in jur
y or death. See Kickback,
page 9, to avoid risk of kickback.
WARNING:
1. When operating the pole saw, rest the foot (A) of the
pole saw against the tree limb that is being cut. (Fig.
7)
2. Make the frist cut one (1) foot from where the final
cut will be. (Fig. 8)
3. Cut the outside of the branch collar to avoid damage
to the tree. (Fig. 9)
