™
Valve
ioDIGITAL uses a digital valve to control temperature and flow. This valve plugs into a standard 110v
power outlet that can be located in a linen closet, under the tub — up to 30 feet from the bathroom —
for easier installation and retrofit flexibility. The innovative design can also store up to 4 temperature
and spray outlet flow combinations into memory with instant, one-touch activation.
1. Is a digital valve easier or more difficult to install
compared to a regular thermostatic valve?
•AllioDIGITALvalvesincludepush-fitconnectors
that work easily and quickly with traditional
plumbing supply tubes (PEX, CPVC and copper).
•
ioDIGITAL vertical spa systems require fewer
trim components (handles/knobs) to install.
•Adjustingthemaximumtemperatureallowableis
easily done on ioDIGITAL valves via a dial control.
Such calibration of standard thermostatic
cartridges is a more time-consuming process.
2. How does the life expectancy of the digital valve
compare with other thermostatic valves?
•
The Moen ioDIGITAL system is certified to
cUPC with applicable standards ASSE 1016 and
ASME A112.18.1M/CSA B125.1 (shower valves),
and UL1951.
•
All of the ioDIGITAL system components are
backed by a five-year limited warranty, and the
finishes and mechanical components feature a
Limited Lifetime Warranty.
3. How many spray outlets can be used in a
digital vertical spa?
•TheMoenverticalspafeaturesfoursprayoutlets
and a maximum flow rate of approximately 17.5 gpm
at 45 psi flowing — configuration examples to follow.

Always cap unused outlets.
4. Do you need a larger hot water tank? What are
the drainage requirements?
•
The vertical spa will work with standard hot
water tanks and typical drainage.
•Ifyourshowerlayoutincludestwoverticalspa
ioDIGITAL spa valves, an 80-gallon or larger hot
water tank is recommended. The vertical spa
system works with plumbing and drainage that
are common to most households.
5. What is the minimum water pressure needed for
a digital valve?
•
20 psi, which is a code requirement.
•WiththeMoenioDIGITALverticalspa,apressure
of at least 40 psi is recommended for optimal
performance and satisfaction.
