Cleaning the guide bar
CAUTION: Protective gloves must be worn.
Regularly inspect the bearing surfaces of the guide bar Tor
damage, and clean them with a suitable
tool.
Replacing the saw chain
CAUTION: Use
only
chains and guide bars designed
for
this
saw
(see the Extract from the spare-parts list)!
Check the sprocket before mountmg a new chain.
Worn out sprockets
(12)
may damage the new chain and must
therefore be replaced.
Remove the sprocket guard (1) (See "PUTTING INTO
OPE-
RATION" figs.
6).
Remove the chain and guide bar.
Remove circlip
(13).
CAREFUL:
The circlip will jump out of the groove unless you
hold it down with your thumb while removing it.
Remove thrust washers
(14
and
15).
Replace the old sprocket
(12)
with a new one
(16).

Assemble the new sprocket, thrust washers and circlip.
For replacing the guide bar, chain, and sprocket see "PUTTING

New chains stretch,
so
check the chain tension frequently (see

Replacing the suction head
The felt filter
(17)
of
the suction head can become clogged.
It
is recommended to replace the suction head once every
three months in order to ensure unimpeded fuel flow to the
carburetor.
To remove the suction head for replacement, pull it out through
the tank filler neck using a piece
of
wire bent at one end to
form a hook.
