Operating the engine with loose or
damaged air cleaner components could
allow unltered air into the engine causing
premature wear and failure.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Do not use compressed air to clean the air
lter.
Filter should be assembled dry and not be
oiled. .
Briggs & Stratton Engine
1. Pull up the handle on the air lter cover.
Unhook and turn towards the engine to
remove.
2. Clean the area around the lter element to
prevent debris from getting into the engine
when the element is removed.

Remove precleaner
3. Lift out the lter element. Replace a dirty, bent
or damaged element with a new one. Handle
the new element carefully and do not use if the
sealing surfaces are bent or damaged. If the
element can be reused, tap it against a solid
surface to remove dust.
4. Carefully lift out the precleaner from the fan
housing. Clean the fan housing so debris
does not fall into the carburetor.
5. Install a new precleaner and the new or
cleaned air lter element into the fan housing.
