3. Ensure that you are on a
flat surface and have secure
footing.
4. Check that the line touches
or goes beyond the edge of
the guard.
WARNING. For your own safety
when adjusting the length of the line, avoid coming into
contact with the line cutting blade (8) which is fixed to the
guard. It is extremely sharp. Keep your hands well away
from this area.
Switching on and off
1. Connect the plug to the
power supply.
Starting
2. Depress the lock-off button
(13) and squeeze the trigger
switch (3).
Stopping
3. When you release the trigger, the machine turns
off and the lock-off button re-engages to prevent
accidental operation.
WARNING. The tool runs for approximately 5 seconds after
it has been switched off. Let the motor come to a complete
standstill before setting the tool down.
Trimming
1. Make sure that the work area is free of rocks, debris,
lines and other foreign objects.
2. To start the line trimmer, first push the lock-off button
(13) and then press the trigger switch (3). To switch off
the trimmer simply release the starting switch. Start the
machine before approaching the grass to be cut.
3. Short or worn line cuts less efficiently, so to improve its
operation tap the spool lightly on the ground while the
trimmer is running at full speed. This will activate the self-
adjustment of the cutting line to the correct length.
Note. To feed out line when you bump the base of
the trimmer, the line trimmer must be operating close to
full speed.
A spring-loaded button on the spool holder is depressed
when the trimmer is “bumped” and this releases line due to
the inertial force of the spinning spool. If too much line is fed
out and it projects beyond the guard edge, it is cut by the
blade in the guard. It is only necessary to replace line that
is broken during use. Do not “bump” to excess as it wastes
line. It takes a little practice and experience to judge when
to “bump”.
Note. Do not cut damp or wet grass. Dry grass will give
excellent results.
Note. Always let the line trimmer rotate at top speed, do not
work in such a way as to overload the trimmer.
4. Cut the grass by swinging the machine from right to left
and proceed slowly keeping the trimmer inclined forwards
at an angle of about 30º.
5. High grass should be cut in layers always beginning from
the top. Do not cut damp or wet grass. Do not overload
your machine.
6. Avoid wearing the line out quickly by knocking against
hard objects (stones, walls, fences etc.).
7. Watch out for kickbacks in the event of impact with
hard objects.
WARNING. Never pass the machine over the extension
cable while the machine is running. Make sure it is always
in a safe position behind your back.
Changing the line and spool
1. Disconnect the trimmer from
the power supply.
2. Turn the machine upside
down, so you have access to
the cutting line in the trimming
head.
3. Whilst holding the trimming
head (6), turn the spool (9)
