The projecting guide (impact protection) prevents any kick-back
if the hedge trimmer hits a solid object.
The safety clutch protects motor, gear and blades from mechanical
damage caused by the blades jamming.
If the blades are jammed by an object:
disconnect the trimmer from the power supply and remove
the object.
The safety devices installed by the manufacturer must not be
removed and/or bypassed, e.g. by tying down a switch in the
handle.
Never use a tool which is not complete or which has been
modified from its original design.
To prevent the Hedge Trimmer starting by accident, never carry
the Hedge Trimmer by the start buttons on the guide handle.
Notes on Care
Always disconnect the Hedge Trimmer before performing any
repairs, inspection or maintenance work.
Repairs must only be carried out by GARDENA Service
Centres, or dealers authorised by GARDENA.
The Hedge Trimmer blades should be cleaned after each use
and lubricated with an oil of low viscosity (e.g. spray-oil).
Note:
1. Do not clean your Hedge Trimmer with water
(risk of corrosion).
2. Never clean your Hedge Trimmer under running water.
Store your Hedge Trimmer in a dry place away from frost and put
on the blade protection.
A Keep your Hedge Trimmer out of the reach of children.
The safety clutch is a strong spring-loaded device and must
not be disassembled.
Inspect the cutting devices at regular intervals for damage.
Ensure that all damage is properly repaired immediately.
The device must not be added to the normal household waste,
it must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
