MAINTENANCE
Air Filter
If the engine seems weak or runs unevenly, the air
lter may be clogged. If run with a dirty air lter, the
spark plugs can become fouled, disrupting operation.
For this reason, it is important to replace the air lter
regularly (see the heading Maintenance Schedule for
the proper service interval).
Kawasaki Engine
Remove the plastic fastener on the top of 1.
the air lter cowling and remove the air lter
cowling.
Remove the foam rubber pre-lter and clean 2.
using a mild detergent. Squeeze dry with a
clean cloth.
Remove the wing nuts for the air lter and 3.
remove the paper lter. Tap the paper lter
against a xed surface to remove dust. If the
paper lter is still dirty, it must be replaced.
To ret the lter:
Check that the seal on the bottom of the paper 1.
lter is whole.
Mount the paper lter in the air lter housing 2.
and tighten the wing nuts.
Ret the pre-lter on the paper lter.3.
Replace the cowling over the air lter housing. 4.
Do not over tighten the plastic fastener.
WARNING!
The engine and the exhaust system
become very hot during operation.
There is a risk for burns if touched.
Allow engine and exhaust system to
cool at least two (2) minutes.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
Do not use compressed air to clean the air
lter. Do not wash the paper lter. Do not oil
the paper lter.
