Neverfill containersinsidea vehicle,on
a truck or trailerbed with a plasticliner.
Alwaysplacecontainerson the ground
awayfrom yourvehiclebeforefilling.
Removegas-poweredequipmentfrom
the truck or trailerand refuelit on the
ground. Ifthis is notpossible,then
refuelsuch equipmentwith a portable
container,ratherthan from a gasoline
dispensernozzle.
Keepthe nozzleincontactwith the rim
of the fuel tank or containeropeningat
all times untilfuelingis complete. Do
not use a nozzlelock-opendevice.
Iffuel is spilled on clothing,change
clothingimmediately.
Neveroverfillfuel tank. Replacegas
cap andtightensecurely.

Neverrun a machineinsidea closed
area.
Nevermakeadjustmentsor repairswith
the engine (motor)running.Disconnect
the sparkplug wire,and keepthe wire
awayfrom the plug to preventaccidental
starting.
Keepnuts and bolts,especiallyblade
attachmentbolts,tight and keepequip-
mentin goodcondition.
Nevertamperwithsafety devices.Check
their properoperationregularly.
Keepmachinefree of grass,leaves,or
otherdebrisbuild-up.Cleanoil or fuel
spillage.Allowmachineto cool before
storing.
Stopand inspectthe equipmentif you
strike an object.Repair,ifnecessary,
beforerestarting.
Neverattemptto makewheelheight
adjustmentswhilethe engineis running.
Grasscatchercomponentsaresubject
to wear,damage,and deterioration,
which couldexposemovingparts or
allowobjectsto be thrown.Frequently
checkcomponentsandreplacewith
manufacturer'srecommendedparts,
when necessary.
Mowerbladesare sharp andcancut.
Wrap the blade(s)or weargloves,and
useextracautionwhenservicingthem.
Do notchangethe enginegovernorset-
ting or overspeedthe engine.
Maintainor replacesafety andinstruc-
tion labels,as necessary.
