MOWER BLADE ADJUSTMENT
• The bladeshave been preadjusted beforeleavingthe factory.
• Misalignmentcan occur resultingin blades thatare too looseor too tight. If this happens, you willnotice a rough,
unevencut or a hard pushing mower.
• All adjustmentsare made fromthe rear ofthe mower(oppositefrom the bar with the logo decal.) Each end of the cut-
ting bar can be adjusted separately.
• As you followthe instructionsbelow,referto Figure 1 for more information.
• The cutting bar blade (located underthe reel) pivots.The frontscrewsmovethe cutterbar away from the blades, while
the rear screws movethe cuttingbar towardthe blades.
• Adjustingthe screws is a verysensitiveprocedure.1116thofa turn is considered a majoradjustment,
• Beforetightening one adjusting screw,be sure to loosenthe opposingscrewan equal amount.
LOOSENING THE BLADES
• The cutter bar blade mustbe moved furtherfromthe cuttingreel.
• Loosenbothback screwsequallybyturning them counter-clockwise,
• Tighten bot'l frontscrewsequally by turningthem clockwise.
TIGHTENING THE BLADES
• The cutter bar must be moved closerto the cuffingree!,
• Loosenboth frontscrewsequally byturning them counter-clcokwise.
• Tighten both back screwsequally byturning them clockwise.
CHECKING ADJUSTMENTS
• Turnmower upside down.
• Inserta pieceof paper (i.e.,writingor newspaper)between the cutter bar and the reelblades, and carefully turnthe reel
bladesby hand.
• All blades should slice the paper evenly the entirelength of the cutter bar whilethe reelturns smoothly.
• If the mowerhas an uneven cut, an adjustmentshouldbe made to the appropriate side of the blades to attain an even
cuttingaction.
