Toproperlysharpenthe cuttingblades,removeequalamountsof
metalfrombothendsd the bladesalongthecuttingedges,parallelto
thetrailingedge,at a 250to300angle.See Figure16.

NOTE: Itisimportantthateachcutting bladeedgebegroundequally
to maintainproperbladebalance.Apoorlybalancedbladewillcause
excessivevibrationandmaycausedamageto themowerand result
in personalinjury.Thebladecanbe testedbybalancingit on a round
shaftscrewdriver.Grindmetalfromtheheavyside untilit balances
evenly.
Blade Installation
An unbalancedbladewill causeexcessivevibrationwhen rotating
at highspeeds.It maycausedamageto mowerand couldbreak,
causingpersonalinjury.
1. Placethe cuttingblade,lockingplate,andbladebolton themotor
shaft andthreadthebladeboltin fingertight.
NOTE: Makecertainto replacethe partsinthe exactorderin
whichtheywere removed.Wheninstallingthe cuttingblade,
be sureit isinstalledwiththecurvedendspointingtowardsthe
mowerdeckandnot towardstheground.
2. Torquethe bladeboltdownusinga torquewrenchto assurethe
bolt istightenedproperly.The recommendedtorquefor theblade
bolt is 170-220in.Ibs.
Toensuresafeoperationofyour mower,periodicallycheckthe blade
bolt forcorrecttorque.
